Video transcript below:
Hey guys Dan here from CLE Tech and today I am going to show you how to unlock your LG K30 so that it can be used on just about any GSM network in the world. So Lets get into it.
So you might be wondering, why would I need to unlock my k30 if It already works with my network. Well, there are many different reasons why but the main reasons being that unlocked phones have more resale value because anybody on any gsm network can buy it and not just those who share the same network to you. So if you want to buy a ATT phone and decide to later switch over to tmobile or vice versa, you can do so with no problems.
So in order to get your phone unlocked youre going to want to follow these simple steps. First, you’re going to need your phone’s IMEI. The easiest way to do this to dial *pound 0-8-pound and your IMEI will appear. Then, you’re going to want to run over to theunlockingcompany.com They are the ones who made this video possible and allowed me to use the k30 on virtually any gsm network.
Select your manufacturer and model of the phone you wish to unlock. In this case, i chose LG k30, Then, choose the country where you purchased the phone and what carrier the phone is tied to. Finally, enter your IMIE into the corresponding field to complete the checkout process. After you complete the checkout process, you will recieve an email with your unlock code. Please note that it does take a little bit of time depending on the phone, carrier, model, etc.
Once you recieve the code, remove the current sim card and insert the sim card from the carrier you wish to use your phone with. After you restart the phone, a command prompt will appear asking you for an unlock code. Enter the code from the email and boom, your phone is now unlocked and ready to use. Yes, its that simple
