Runic Games, creator of Torchlight series and Hob, closed

Late last week, it was announced by parent publisher Perfect World, that Motiga (the studio behind Gigantic) would experience severe lay-offs and Runic Games would close it's doors permanently, effective immediately.[1]

This news came as quite a shock to me, as I've been closely following Runic over the past year. As a fan of the Torchlight series, I was excited to see the new IP the team was showcasing at PAX East last year. It was obvious to me how passionate the Runic team was about games, and delivering quality content. I recently completed my playthrough of Hob and my full review will be posted in the coming days. In short, please take time to play this game. The team at Runic Games delivered an amazing world, and a wonderful gameplay experience with satisfying puzzles.

It is my hope that all the team at Runic finds a home elsewhere in the industry and continues to innovate and entertain.
