Honor 6X: Unboxing and First Impressions (CES 2017)
Today at CES, Honor unveiled the Honor 6X with the tag line "Double Or Nothing". The phone is sporting an Octa-Core processor, comes with either 3 or 4 GB of RAM, and either 32 or 64 GB of storage. Honor doubled down on the camera, providing a dual lens system with additional sensors allowing you to adjust a wide range of aperture and provide depth of field. Honor also boldly claims double the battery life from last years 5X, but we will have to wait and see. For all the information on this device, watch our Unboxing and First Impressions from CES 2017.

Hey guys, Dan here from CLE Tech and today Honor just announced their follow up to last year's super popular Honor 5X, with the all new Honor 6X.
Now, the unboxing experience might be a little different when the actual retail version comes out on January 4th but aside from the phone itself, we have a Micro USB charging cable and wall adapter. I am a bit dissapointed that Honor didn't go with USB type C but we have to remember that this phone is only $249 unlocked and packs a lot of great specs for a lot less money.
Speaking of those specs, the Honor 6X has a 5.5” 1080p LCD display, with an Octa-core CPU, 32gb of storage with 3gb of RAM or another model with 64gb of storage with 4gb of RAM. Both models do have expandable storage via MicroSD card slot.
Honor boasts double the battery life but yet the phone is only carrying a 3340mah battery so I am curious to find out just how good this battery is during further testing.
Another main feature of the Honor 6X is the dual lens camera setup on the back. The camera has a 12mp main sensor with a 2mp sensor right beside it. Early reports are that the pictures do look really good but we will have to save our camera thoughts for the full review.
The build quality of the Honor 6X is familiar, yet very high quality. The all aluminum back makes another appearance but this time it has a nicer feel in the hands with more of a curved body rounding out the curved glass on the front. Definitely has a more modern feel as opposed to the Honor 5X from last year. Of course, as mentioned earlier, on the bottom you have your Micro USB charging port and the right side is where the rest of the volume and power buttons can be found.
Finally, the software is still, unfortunately, Emotion UI 4.1 but Honor did mention at today's press conference that Android 7.0 and Emotion UI 5 will be available in Q2 of this year. I am definitely looking forward to that update as I really like what they did with the new updates to Emotion UI. I think what really spoiled the Honor 5X for me last year was the software and the Honor 6X really isn't any different. There a few neat software shortcuts and tricks that Honor has implemented but overall, it's not my favorite Android skin.
The Honor 6X will be available tomorrow, January 4th, here in the US for $249 unlocked. Let me know what you want to see in the full review by leaving a comment down below. Also, be sure to subscribe to the channel, so you don't miss any of our CES coverage this week.
